Hire Period

  • Normal hire period is up to 4 days by agreement. If you require a longer hire period then please ask for a quotation.
  • Amendments to the order may be made up to 48hrs prior to delivery.

Delivery & Collection

  • You may collect your order from our offices, alternatively we will deliver at a charge of 40p per mile per journey each way, please ask for a quotation.
  • Deliveries to London may incur a charge for the congestion charge and parking.
  • Charges are based on delivery to and collection from the ground floor, if you require an alternative arrangement please discuss it with us as soon as possible.
  • Goods will not be left at unattended premises under any circumstances.
  • Goods remaining unpacked or in need of repacking at the time of collection may incur a charge for packing time.
  • Late returns will be charged at a rate of 20% of total hire charge per day.

Condition of Goods

  • All goods will arrive with an inventory. The items should be checked against the inventory on arrival and the inventory signed to indicate that there are no discrepancies or damage.
  • If there is no-one available to sign the inventory then Just Lovely will deem the goods to have arrived in undamaged condition and in accordance with the order.
  • All goods will be carefully packed to eliminate risk of breakages. Packaging materials must be retained and items packed in a similar manner in the correct boxes ready for collection. Boxes will be clearly marked for this purpose.
  • Our hire charges include washing up and cleaning of linen, however, should you need to clean any items during the hire period please be aware that Vintage China was not made to withstand the rigours of the dishwasher, therefore please do not under any circumstances use this method.
  • Before packing for collection, all food remnants must be brushed from the china and all liquids poured away from teapots, jugs and cups. Spillages on linen should be left open to dry before folding as mildew forms very quickly and is often impossible to remove.


  • A deposit of 50% of the order value will be payable on confirmation of booking.
  • The balance will be due 14 days prior to date of delivery, along with a separate cheque for the breakages deposit as shown on the hire agreement.
  • Goods will not be despatched until payment in cleared funds has been received.
  • The breakages deposit cheque will be held safely until the goods are returned and checked. If there are no losses or damage the cheque will be returned, alternatively the deposit minus any charges will be returned. This will normally be within 7 days of collection.
  • In the event that loss or damage exceeds the damage deposit, a separate invoice will be raised for the full replacement cost and immediate payment is required.


  • Cancellations will incur charges as follows (subject to a minimum of £20):

  • We regret that refunds cannot be made for reduced orders once the final payment has been received.
  • Cancellation advice must be made in writing.


  • Goods will be deemed to be in the care of and the responsibility of the hirer from the time of delivery until collection. All goods on hire remain the property of Just Lovely at all times.
  • It is the hirer's responsibility to make sure that goods are covered by insurance for loss or damage due to fire, theft or vandalism and public liability whilst in their care.
  • Just Lovely accepts no responsibility for damage or injury connected with the hired goods however caused.


We are sure you will take great care of our china, however we realise that accidents do happen.

  • We charge a breakages deposit which is fully refundable once all items have been washed and checked and no breakages found. This will be within 7 days.
  • The breakages deposit is set at 50% of the total hire fee (subject to minimum deposit £100). Please note we will require an additional £50 deposit for the hire of our punch bowl.
  • In the unfortunate event of an item becoming damaged or lost during the hire period we will charge 5 times the hire fee of the item, except for tea/coffee pots, cakestands and cutlery, in which case we will charge 7 times the hire fee.
  • Some patterns and designs are quite rare and can be very difficult to source, please note the additional breakages charge for the Diamond Collection at 7 times the hire fee.
  • Should breakages total in excess of the deposit paid, we will invoice you for the additional amount.
  • Some items of our china are more fragile than others and we would ask that you take particular care when stacking cups or plates. Not only do we want you to get the most out of our hire service by not having to pay for breakages, but we prefer not to lose any of our carefully selected china.
  • If an item is chipped or cracked it will be classed as broken.
  • If a cup or saucer is broken the charge will be for replacement of both cup and saucer.
  • Linens with tears, or stains which are unable to be removed will need to be replaced.
  • Damage to linens can be caused by folding up whilst wet. Please ensure that you allow any spillages to dry before packing away. Mildew marks are almost impossible to remove and we will have to charge you for replacement if we are unable to clean hired linen.
